To mark the 200th anniversary of Norwegian emigration and Stavanger’s 900th jubilee, Stavanger Concert Hall invites you to two musical journeys across time and sea.
Prelude talk (free entry): Join us for Into the Music – a free introductory session with Tor Yttredal in the VIP Room on the 5th floor at 18:30.
The concert opens with Over the Sea Towards a Higher Heaven – an evocative new piece by Ståle Kleiberg, premiered earlier this year by the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra.
Next comes Antonín Dvořák’s beloved Symphony No. 9 – From the New World, composed in America and rich with longing and love for the old continent. The programme symbolises the shift between the familiar and the unknown – between roots and new beginnings.
