One of Norway's foremost singer-songwriters is taking his best songs and his top-notch band out on the road in the New Year.

Ahead of the tour, Bjella will be appearing in the TV2 hit Hver gang vi møtes, alongside such greats as Carola, Kjartan Lauritzen, Astrid S and Ina Wroldsen, Thomas Dybdal and Jonas Benyoub. This will undoubtedly be a golden opportunity for people all over the country to get to know the quirky Ål artist and his unique musical universe. The stage is set for a concert experience that hits the heart as well as the dancefloor this evening, and it's a safe bet that there will be new interpretations of both others' and his own hits.

Bjella has a very special place in the Norwegian artist flora, with a unique ability to reach people from town and country with her honest, down-to-earth and at the same time poetic lyrics.
With immortal songs like ‘Romantikken gjer meg sjuk’, ‘Psykisk kan du vera sjøl’, ‘Heidersmann’, ‘Tilbake i det blå’ and countless more in the bag, there's plenty to look forward to, as anyone who has experienced a concert with Bjella can attest. And we haven't even mentioned the tradition of raffling off a fruit basket at all the concerts he's held since he started.

With him on the road are his faithful comrades-in-arms: Geir Sundstøl on guitar, Eirik Øien on bass, Kenneth Kapstad on drums and David Wallumrød on keys.

Stein Torleif Bjella made a name for himself with his solo debut Heidersmenn in 2009. Two years later came Vonde visu, which won him the Spellemann Prize, and in 2013 he completed his album trilogy with Heim for å døy, which topped the VG list. Since then, Bjella has released critically acclaimed albums such as Gode Liv, Øvre-Ål Toneakademi and Nysetmåne. He has collaborated with Kringkastingsorkesteret on Bjellasangar arranged for brass & wood, and experimented with a spoken word improvisation album with his band. In addition, he has received a number of awards, such as the Edvard Prize and the Prøysen Prize.

Bjella's music is often described as a mixture of mournful joy and romantic heartbreak, where one eye laughs while the other cries. The music has also inspired theatre productions, such as the successful Kan nokon gripe in and the production Heil ved, based on Lars Mytting's novel, which is still being performed at the Norwegian Theatre.

In addition to his music, Stein Torleif Bjella is also a recognised author with his poetry collection Jordsjukantologien Nr. 1 and the novel Fiskehuset. Fiskehuset was nominated for the P2 listeners' novel prize and won the Nynorsk Literature Prize.
