With roots in Minnesota, where he grew up in a family of farmers and teachers, Olson has developed a unique musical signature, blending alternative guitar tunings with two-part vocal arrangements that shift between unison and harmony.
As the founder of the legendary band The Jayhawks in 1985, Olson was one of the key songwriters, vocalists, and guitarists behind albums such as Blue Earth, Hollywood Town Hall, Tomorrow the Green Grass, and Mockingbird Time. After his time with The Jayhawks, he started Original Harmony Ridge Creekdippers in 1997, later known simply as Creekdippers, releasing seven albums.
Olson’s music is known for its deeply personal approach, with lyrics and melodies that take listeners on a journey through American traditions infused with modern influences. Expect a concert experience that blends musical mastery with heartfelt intimacy when this Americana legend takes the stage.
