Valkyrien Allstars’ seventh album is out now!
"Venter på noen, som venter på noen" ("Waiting for someone, who’s waiting for someone") follows their critically acclaimed 2020 album Slutte & Bynne. Though they won the Spellemann Award in the Folk Song category, their sound veers suspiciously close to pop — with roots in traditional folk music.

Teaming up with Swedish folk label Supertraditional, the band delivers nine finely crafted tracks about life and living. This album continues Valkyrien’s signature fusion of tradition and pop — a formula that’s taken them zigzagging across Norway so often, it’s a wonder there are still trees left in the forest.

Erik has gotten even better on guitar, Martin has learned banjo, Magnus has fixed his bass, and Tuva has sharpened her pen.

Valkyrien Allstars is widely known as one of Norway’s best live bands. Since their 2007 debut, they’ve been trailblazers in arranged folk music — always evolving their sound and pioneering new folk with a truly unique voice.

The band consists of Tuva Syvertsen, Magnus Larsen Jr, Erik Sollid, and Martin Langlie (not Checkpoint Martin). Together, they create songs that embody eternal love and mysteries that never resolve. Whether on record or on stage, they deliver energy, intensity, and surprising turns.
