One of only a few walks Sauda can offer that starts off above the treeline with a minimal ascent into the high mountains. That's why this is a good walk with children from 8 years of age.
The path to Øvre Sandvatnbrakka goes on either side of the Nedre Sandvatn lake, so you can do a round walk. There and back to the car takes 4 hours, without breaks. Øvre Sandvatnbrakka is a cabin operated by the Haugesund Trekking Association and you can spend the night here or just have a lunch break and make yourselves a cup of soup.
Be prepared for the highlands: bring along warm and windproof clothes, a local topographic map and a compass/gps.
