Travel to the only preserved Monastery from the Middle Ages in Norway and discover its fascinating history from the Viking days to modern time.

Through one of the world's longest underwater tunnels, you travel North to Mosterøy. This is where lies the Utstein Monastery, one of the country's finest landmarks dating all the way back to the Middle Ages. It has served as the royal residence of the very first Viking king of Norway; Harald Fairhair. It was later donated to the monks of Stavanger in the 12th century and has even served as a private mansion long after that.

Discover all the different eras the monastery has witnessed and the remains of each of them in the current structure. This area oozes stories of the monks' activities and wealth shows in beautiful detailing both out-and indoors. It is a very peaceful location, back in the day it also was a very strategic one.

Besides the monastery itself, you will also be able to enjoy the views and rural landscapes along the way.

Extra: Coffe/tea and waffels (must be pre-booked).
Organ concert. 15 minutes (must be pre-booked).
