Overview
Details

In the middle of Lysefjord lies the roadless village of Flørli, where one of Norway's first hydroelectric plants opened over 100 years ago. The old plant was replaced in 1999 and the village took on a new life as an idyllic tourist destination. It offers great scenery, unique hiking experiences, a café, exciting history and a chance to climb the world's longest wooden staircase.

The cruise into Lysefjord is an adventure in itself. We sail through spectacular fjord scenery past impressive Preikestolen and on to the Hengjane Falls before arriving at Flørli at about 10:30 in the morning.

Flørli is perhaps best known for its world record wooden staircase, with 4,444 steps.  You can climb the stairs on the way to the old power plant 750 meters above the village, with spectacular views during the trek.

Flørli also offers other fun and child-friendly hiking options for those preferring to skip the stair climb.
