Gapahuk Storafjell
Vikeså's hiking destination in the town centre. "Gapahuk Storafjellet" is not actually a lean-to shelter, but a cabin open to everyone. Built on the initiative of local enthusiasts, on a peak at an altitude of 500 meters in the middle of Vikeså centre.
Go on an afternoon trip to the day-trip-cabin at mount Storafjellet in the middle of Vikeså centre! At about 500 masl, you'll have spectacular views and the opportunity to make coffee on the wood burner in the cabin as you get up.
There are several possible hiking trails up; some are steep but well-facilitated. Ladders and stairs are bolted to the mountain in the steepest sections. You can park the Storafjell Kindergarten, at the top of the Tjødnaråsen residential area by Lauvtjødna, or at Skjæveland. All trails are well marked. Moderately demanding terrain, walking time just under an hour if you start at Storafjell Kindergarten.
