Garborgheimen is the childhood home of the poet Arne Garborg (1851-1924) and is a very well-preserved Jæren house. It was built in 1848 by the poet's parents, Ane Oline and Eivind Aadneson Garborg. The house was owned by the family until 1869.

Garborgheimen is a listed building

In 1939, the house was listed by the National Heritage Board, and in 1940 it became the property of Time Municipality. On the poet's centenary in 1951, Garborgheimen was converted into a museum. With furnishings and furniture from the 1850s, it provides a good picture of the poet's cultural and social background. Several of the poet's works, including his masterpiece Fred from 1892, are set in this house.
