The hike to Lauvnesknuten offers a fantastic journey through a varied landscape that culminates at the summit, 633 metres above sea level, with a magical panorama of mountains and fjords. It is a favourite among many and highly recommended.
The hike to LauvnesknutenAfter around 60 minutes' drive from the pick-up point, you will approach the hike's starting point. Once at the starting point, your guide will check your equipment and make any necessary adjustments. You will then receive a short safety briefing with information about the trail, expected conditions and useful hiking tips before embarking on the day's exciting adventure!
The hike starts effortlessly on a gravel road by a quiet lake, leading to scattered cabins and creating a tranquil atmosphere. After about 1.8 kilometres, the dirt road ends and you head out into the countryside, following a path alongside beautiful lakes.
Take photo breaks to capture the beauty of natureThe terrain is occasionally damp but equally charming, and you cross the open and clear landscape until you reach a junction and turn north towards the fjord. Taking small breaks to capture the surroundings in photos is usually desirable, which is completely understandable in this magical terrain!
The top of the mountain with panoramic views of the fjord and mountainsNow Lauvnesknuten awaits - a well-shaped cairn marks the top of this mountain that you admired from the car earlier. You walk upwards, and then there is a slight descent before you reach the top of Lauvnesknuten. What a view! Towards the Høgsfjord in the northwest, and towards the Frafjord winding eastwards between the towering mountains!
Enjoy your packed lunch at the top of LauvnesknutenA well-earned break at the top gives you time to enjoy the view and pat yourself on the back for reaching the summit. After a refreshing break, the hike returns, with opportunities for detours to gain new perspectives and new hiking memories if time and energy allow.
