For a great view, Lifjell is one of the best viewing points of northern Jæren. From the top, you can enjoy magnificent views of Stavanger, the Gandsfjord, the North Sea and Ryfylke. Going up from Hommersåk gives you an amazing view of Riska and Strandalandet.
For a great view, Lifjell is one of the best viewing points in northern Jæren. From the top, you can enjoy magnificent views of Stavanger, the Gandsfjord, the North Sea and Ryfylke. Going up from Hommersåk gives you an amazing view of Riska and Strandalandet. One way from Hommersåk. From the parking: A gravel road winds its way to the top and it's a bit steep at the beginning, however, constantly delivers good vantage points towards Hommersåk and Strand. Great views in all directions from the top.
Getting here by car
With car:, Drive to Hommersåk, Rv 13/Fv516 and follow the signs to Li. Turn left into Likaiveien. After some hundred meters the road makes a sharp turn right. Here you drive the second road to the left, Limarka and continue uphill towards the top. When you come to a little crossroad, you keep to the left and the parking is to the right. The road is closed for cars but it is possible to walk. The road is partly steep, but you will get a good view while walking.
Getting here by Public Transport
Boat from Stavanger:, Travel by boat from Fiskepirterminalen in Stavanger to Hommersåk. Walk to the left and follow Kaiveien ca 500m and walk past the white church. Turn to the right to Riskaveien and follow this road to Likaiveien.
Bus from Sandnes:, By bus no. 21 to Nordafjellveien, walk to Riskaveien, approximately 30m, turn left and follow this road to Likaiveien. See description under own transport for the further walk.
