Rogaland Theatre annually presents 10-14 productions on four different stages: The main stage, which seats 375 people on two levels; the intimate scene, a flexible studio scene that seats 72 people; the cellar theatre, a small studio scene that seats 70 people and the theatre hall where the number of audience seats varies between 100 and 200. On average, 400 - 500 performances are presented annually, for an audience of 80,000 - 110,000. Rogaland Theatre has 82 permanent employees, of which 24 full-time positions are set for actors. The theatre has its own workshops that produce all the scenes, costumes, wigs etc.
In 1957, Bjørn Endreson initiated a very unique addition to the regular theatre operation, the children's theatre. The children's theatre at Rogaland theatre is outstanding, not only in Norway, but also in the Nordic context. This is an offer for children and young people with theatre as a leisure activity. In addition to regular club nights, large set-ups are produced annually. The children's theatre productions are among the most popular at Rogaland theatre. Each year, the children's theatre plays up to 80-100 performances at the theatre's main stage for an audience of 20,000 - 30,000.
After the Rogaland theatre took over the former Gymnastics hall from the county in January 2003, the theatre was given a unique and long-awaited opportunity to further develop their activity. With its own building providing both stage opportunities and rehearsal rooms, it has opened up a unique opportunity to realise the future plans the theatre has for the children's and youth theatre. Welcome to convincing performances on their four theatre stages.
