Varen Randaberg kulturscene

The name Varen derives from the word ‘varde,’ which is a stone cairn placed on top of a hill, mountain or viewing point. Today, these cairns often serve as endpoints for marked hiking trails. The building that houses the Randaberg Cultural Centre is designed with a shape reminiscent of a cairn, which not only reflects the geographical connection to the Varen area but also that the cultural centre is a landmark and gathering place for Randaberg's cultural life.
