Verkshotellet is a historic and cozy hotel in the center of Jørpeland in Ryfylke, only ten minutes by car to the trail to Preikestolen.
Verkshotellet was built in 1912 for the management of the local steelworks. The hotel was used for accommodation and gatherings. While the managers and supervisors with families had Christmas parties and May 17th celebrations at Verkshotellet, the working families had to gather at the trade union house.
The venerable building was opened as a hotel in 2011 after an extensive restoration. It contains 28 bright and comfortable guest rooms with a total of 54 beds. A lot of the original architecture and style has been retained, so you can still feel the history of the steelworks in the walls.
From the hotel you have a nice view of Jørpelandsvågen, where you can rent a kayak or a boat. The hotel cooperate with Fjordexpedition, which arranges guided kayak tours around the many islets nearby. There are also many great hiking opportunities within walking distance of the hotel.
Verkshotellet also collaborates with Sabines Hudpleie Beautyworld and the café Villa Rosehagen, both close to the hotel.
The hotel has a fully equipped conference room for 50 people.
