About the route
Depend of the weather, if poor weather we use the original track, if nice weather, go of the beaten track. If ice and a lot of snow, we normally use the original route.
The hike takes around four hours and is six kilometres. The hike starts from the parking by the Preikestolen Mountain Lodge. Located here is a service facility with toilets. The hike consists of slightly hilly terrain with a difference of altitude of 350 metres. The prime attraction on the hike you obtain on top of the plateau with a mesmerising view of the outstanding Lysefjord. Additionally, there are nice spots to take a dip as well as enjoyable resting areas along the path.
Part of the route is on fixed path, with stone and solid underlay. But this is a hike in the Norwegian highland so you need winter-clothes and good hiking boots.
