Female Composers – Then and Now

Musikkens Venner invites you to revisit one of Sweden's most renowned ensembles, the saxophone quartet Rollin’ Phones, formed in 1986. The ensemble is characterized by its close interplay, warm sound, joy of playing, and virtuosity. Several pieces are performed from memory, creating extra contact with the audience.

The quartet is based in Stockholm, but it is worth noting that one of the musicians, Tove Nylund, resides in Arendal.

They have appeared on radio and TV, both nationally and internationally, and have toured in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. Nine recordings have been released.

The concert will feature both original compositions and arrangements by female composers.
