Bike trip Tvedestrand - Nes Verk

From the coastal town of Tvedestrand the route passes through hilly farmlands on its way to the best preserved ironworks in Norway.
Start the trip from Tvedestrand harbour at the town hall, up the street Hotellkleiva where you can rent a bicycle at Tvedestrand Museum, and through the pedestrian area in town, then up along classified road no. 410 to Bergsmyr. Take left in the roundabout, and at the end of the industrial area, you enter the old road between Tvedestrand and the ironworks site. After about 300 m on gravel road, the route turns right. Go through the woods and into Holtsbygda. Cross the highway E18 carefully, take left and go through Fianshagen and to classified road no. 415. Pass Solberg, over 415 up the hill. On the other side of the hill, the Nes Verk valley opens up, past the golf course, turn right through the romantic park Lunden, and into Næs Ironworks Museum.
