Bjellandstrand Farm: A Place of History and Natural Beauty

Bjellandstrand Farm, with its picturesque surroundings, boasts a rich and fascinating history. The main house itself dates back to 1650, and the entire farm spans approximately 450 acres. Some parts of the property are situated within the Raet National Park. The farm enjoys a unique location on the outskirts of Tromøy, just 100 meters from the sea. Visitors will discover a charming environment with old traditional buildings, stunning hiking areas, pebble beaches, and rocky outcrops.

Hosts Unni and Jon Ramsvatn welcome you to their private oasis, which encompasses both their personal residence and their business activities on the farm.

Visitors' Garden

The farm features an enchanting visitors' garden where you can wander among various rose plants, shrubs, perennials, and summer flowers. The garden offers different themed areas, providing a floral oasis for those who appreciate flowers. Here, you can relax, unwind, and let time pass by. Gardener Jon and gardening enthusiast Unni are happy to share insights about the different plants and provide valuable gardening advice. Admission is NOK 90 per person (free for children under 16). With your ticket, you'll receive a plant list and a small map of the garden. The public opening hours are Wednesday to Friday 12:00 - 18:00 from June 25 to August 8. Garden clubs, tour groups, teams, and associations can book special tours and dining experiences beyond the regular opening hours.

Café

Our cozy little café serves homemade cakes and lunch dishes from the farm. If you're interested in visiting only our café, that's certainly possible. However, if you explore the garden as well, an entrance fee applies. Note that we offer favorable prices for season passes. Whether indoors or outdoors, you can enjoy delightful treats at our café. Villrosen Farm Shop

Adjacent to the garden is our small shop where you can purchase lovely products for your garden, outdoor spaces, and terrace. We offer summery textiles by Emma Sjødin, flower vases in various sizes and shapes, garden figurines and decorations, baskets, lanterns, wellness products, and much more. Open Wednesday to Friday 12:00 - 18:00 from June 25 to August 8.

Event Venues

Our charming and pleasant venues are suitable for most events. We organize all types of gatherings, including weddings, parties, corporate events, and whatever you may desire. In our event venue on the second floor, we set up round tables for a maximum of 80-85 guests. We serve everything from buffets to three-course event menus.

The farm is located 10 minutes from Arendal city center. Drive towards Tromøy over Tromøy Bridge, then turn left towards Kongshavn. After approximately 2 km, take a right at the sign pointing to Tromøy Church, and follow this road for another 2 km until you see a sign for Bjelland 0.6. Continue following the signs to Bjellandstrand Gård (Farm).
