Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall

Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall is the region's largest venue for contemporary art.
Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall is a former textile factory from 1898, beautifully situated by Lake Langsævannet, between the E18 highway and Arendal city center. Bomuldsfabriken is a vibrant meeting place where visitors can experience the very best and most current happenings in contemporary art. The ground floor hosts rotating exhibitions, while the second floor features exhibitions highlighting central artists and works from the collection.
On the third floor, you’ll find an exit to Kunstarena Torbjørnsbu Mines, with a walkway leading through the old open-pit mine.
Bomuldsfabriken offers regular public guided tours and organizes tours for groups by appointment, including specially tailored art experiences for children and youth in its own workshop. There is also a small café and a well-stocked library with art books and current art magazines, as well as a family-friendly room with comics, LEGO, and half a camping caravan.
Open Tuesday–Sunday from 12:00 to 16:00 and until 18:00 on Thursdays during exhibition periods. Closed on Mondays.
