Arendal got a new hotel in summer 2021!
Right in the center of Arendal, Arendal's newest 91-room hotel opened in June. You won't live more centrally in Arendal, the Hotel Arendal is only a few steps away between Torvet (market square) and Arendal culture and town hall with bus station, parking garage and train. There is room for a range of different customer groups and needs; Families with children have a new offer in the city with 34 dormitories / family rooms in various sizes with 3 to 7 beds, and there is a separate department with capsule rooms and boxes - a modern and robust dormitory with shared toilets and shower rooms. In addition, there are single rooms, double rooms, 9 handicapped accessible rooms and 9 small apartments with a kitchen-cum-living room. Some of the rooms can also be used as an office or meeting room for 2-6 people.
The hotel rooms are small but comfortably furnished, with good beds and tiled bathrooms. The focus is on high-quality interiors, but the hotel rooms contain nothing more than what you need to sleep. Good beds. Good duvets. Own bath. Most rooms have a desk and chair, a seating area or a dining table. The largest family room in the hotel has Smart TV so you can enjoy your own streaming services on a bigger screen while others don't have a TV. All rooms have fast and free WiFi.
Traditional hotel services such as room service, hotel restaurant, minibar and reception are gone, instead the Hotel Arendal offers smooth and efficient online booking and payment, automated check-in and check-out. Breakfast is not included in room rates, but a simple breakfast package can be ordered as an option and delivered by Mikrobageriet.

The hotel also has a modern dormitory with 8 bed boxes and 6 capsule rooms, inspired by Japanese capsule hotels. The bed boxes are in practice only a bed in a closet, with a simple mattress, bedside table and a shelf for storing luggage. These have a small window in the door to the corridor. The capsule rooms have the usual ceiling height and a small entrance hall with a chair and space for luggage, while the bed in one room is above or under the bed in the next room. All capsules have a window with daylight.
