Hove Beaches on Tromøy

Hove Beaches offer the very best of Tromøy: sea breeze, warm sand between your toes, and plenty of space to enjoy the day.
On the southwest side of Tromøy, just a few minutes from Arendal’s city centre, you’ll find Hove Beaches – one of the city’s most beloved swimming areas. Here you can enjoy shallow, family-friendly sandy shores, or choose the smooth coastal rocks if you prefer diving straight into the sea.
One of the beaches is adapted for visitors with reduced mobility, ensuring safe and accessible swimming for everyone.
The area features a playground, restrooms, a summer café and a kiosk. Troll Aktiv also offers a great climbing park high up in the trees, as well as rentals of kayaks, SUP boards, bicycles and other outdoor activities.
At Hove you can camp, stay in cabins, or park your camper van at Hove Leirsenter.
Hove is part of Raet National Park, and you feel it instantly: heather hills, pine forests, the sound of waves and that unmistakable southern Norway coastal atmosphere – all within reach of beaches, trails and polished seaside rocks.
Perfect for a full day of sun and sea, or a peaceful evening stroll as the waves roll onto the shore.
