The area around Tvedestrand gives one of the finest impressions of the southern coastline with all its many bays, islands, and small communities.
Ride your bike from Tvedestrand town centre, follow the signs on classified road no. 411 towards Lyngør, exit to Borøy about 500 m after Sagesund. Follow the signs to Hagefjordbrygga. Take the ferry to Sandøya. The trip around Sandøya ends at the shop in Sandøykilen. Order a taxi boat to Lyngør. After a detour stop at Lyngør, you can take the ferry to Gjeving.
Follow signs from Gjeving to Risør about 300 m. Take the road to the cabin area Saltrø Hyttefelt, pass the barrier and continue straight ahead to the stream Saltrøbekken. Follow the path up into the woods straight ahead, after a while you arrive on the gravel road (take left) going to Hope/Fie. At the end of the road, take left towards Tvedestrand/Laget. The road to the right leads to Sild (Giant’s kettles). Follow signs back to Tvedestrand on 411.
