Magdalene Buchholm was a self-taught writer who inspired both Camilla Collett and Henrik Ibsen. She fought for women's rights in the 1790s and claimed her place among the literary elite of Norway-Denmark. A woman from Flekkefjord with a sharp mind and pen, she earned the respect of generations of Norwegian authors.
