Bergshavs maritime collections in Hasseldalen

You now have the unique opportunity to see Bergshavs maritime collections in Hasseldalen, where maritime business have been conducted continuously since 1842. 

Join a guided tour in the protected building "Navnebua" (the name lodge), or "Snekkerbua" (the carpenter lodge) as it was originally called. The collection holds more than a thousand objects that represent a cross section of norwegian and not to mention southern, ship building and -shipping from the middle of the nineteenth to the middle of the twentieth century. Most objects are collected by the ship historian Birger Dannevig. 

The Tour continues in "Storbua" (the big lodge), which is actually a covered bedding from 1915, and contains two separate collections. The upper part is a complete wodden boat building facility with all tools and two boats "under construction". The boat building facility belonged to Torleif Wrålsen (1937-2010), a fifth generation boat builder in Kroken. After Torleif's passing, the inventory was taken over by Bergshav and put on display in "Storbua" in 2017. The part closest to the sea contains a meaningful historical collection with smaller wodden boats of many different types, from different eras.

Duration: approx. 1 hour for the short trip (Navnebua only); about. 1.5-2 hours for the long trip (Navnebua and Storbua)
Prices (ex. administration NOK 175): NOK 2,400 (for max. 20 people) for the short trip. NOK 3,000 (for max. 20 people) for the long trip.
