Overview

Guided tour of the Ibsen Museum

The Ibsen Museum is one of Grimstad’s most popular attractions. You get to see the original pharmacy where Ibsen worked as a young apothecary's assistant, and also the room in which he wrote his first play, Catilina. Henrik Ibsen spent six formative years of his youth in Grimstad, and the museum tells stories about Ibsen in love, his friendships, and the “illegitimate” child.

We recommend combining the visit to the Ibsen Museum with a guided town walk exploring the other key Ibsen locations in Grimstad.

Duration: 45 min
Prices: from NOK 90,- per person.
Booking: Grimstad Tourist Information
