Town walk - Hamsun's Grimstad

Knut Hamsun lived in Grimstad for over 30 years.

This walking tour focuses on Hamsun's time in the city and provides you with a summary of Hamsun's life.
The tour begins with a short film at Storgaten 44 before we set out on a walk to key Hamsun-related locations in the city.

During the tour, you will hear about the purchase of the estate Nørholm in 1918, the Nobel Prize in Literature, and the trial against Hamsun after the war. You will also gain insights into parts of Hamsun's literary works, including "Victoria" and "På gjengrodde stier" ("On Overgrown Paths").
