The Migration Period was Agder's golden age – In the exhibition "The Immortals", you will be taken back to the early Iron Age and meet the ancestors of the Vikings.

This is the history BEFORE the Vikings!
Mighty swords, mysterious symbols and climate apocalypse!
Welcome to "The Immortals" at Tingvatn!

The Snartemo sword is the best-known individual find from the Migration Period (375-550 AD), but there are so many more from the entire Lister region, often at a high level of craftsmanship. The magnificent objects testify to craft communities that worked with different materials and forms of expression, tied together by the animal style of the Migration Period.

Opening hours outside the summer season:
Open every Sunday 12-16.

Summer season 2025:
June 18 – August 17, 2025: Wednesday-Sunday 12-17.
