Hamresanden is a 3 km long sandy beach with a buzzy life in the summer season and a lot of sand.

The area is often used for windsurfing, swimming, diving and strolls in the water's edge.

The Blue Flag is a voluntary eco-label awarded beaches and marinas.

Blue Flag is an exclusive distinction is awarded only 5 beaches in Norway - including Bystranda in Kristiansand. The Blue Flag works towards sustainable development at beaches/marinas through strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management, and safety and other services.
