Route description - Heimdalsknuten hill (429m.) is one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Birkenes council. The top is a huge, flat slab of rock. You can see the whole coastline from Kristiansand to Arendal. The route starts from the car park at Heimdal. Firstly follow the gravel road then take off to the right and continue on woodland path. Returning you can choose to pass Lake Knutetjønn. Distance 5 km. At Heimdal the old schoolhouse is worth seeing.

Starting point - drive northwards from Birkeland towards Evje. After 16 km. turn left to "Lunden". Follow road 3 km to car park at Heimdal.
