Swimming at Bortelid
Great places for swimming in and around Bortelid
If you feel for swimming you will find a lot of magnificent lakes and other bathing spots in Bortelid.
Bortelidtjønna, the small lake in the center invites to take a bath (or a paddling round) with the whole family. Or you can just lie on the beach and enjoy the sunshine. During the summer months you will find a watertrampoline lying on the lake and there are also water toys that you can use for free.
Rundatjønna is also a family-friendly lake with a small beach. Both of the lakes have a quite flat water level which provides swimming at a pleasant bathing temperature.
Walking down from the center to the campsite (Bortelid Camping) you can find a lot of nice bathing spots along the stream, which is running down to Murtetjønna.
In the northern end of the reservoir lake Juvatn you will discover a fantastic area for bathing. Water has formed the rocks along the riverside, which are appearing as a kind of natural whirlpools, tempting for both bathing and relaxing.
