Teateret offers flexible and atmospheric venues suitable for everything from performances and concerts to conferences, parties, and corporate events.

Our venues:

• Main Stage – Our grand hall with room for up to 450 people. Historical soul, modern technology, and high flexibility.
• The Small Stage – A versatile black box with amphitheater seating for up to 250 guests. Perfect for shows, concerts, and parties.
• Intimate Stage – A cozy lounge with red sofas and space for 67-90 guests. Ideal for smaller concerts, book talks, and lectures.
• The Amphitheater – Cinema setup with capacity for 100-200 people. Suitable for medium-sized events requiring a stage and seating.
• Chambre Séparée – A bright and urban event space with a view of Vestre Strandgate. Up to 100 seats, depending on setup.
• Main Stage Floor – Production space with 18-meter ceiling height. Tailored for large productions, special needs, and larger banquet dinners.
• The Foyer – The house's vibrant heart with a restaurant, bar, and flexible options for both professional and social gatherings.

About the building
Teateret is located in the former Kristiansand Teater – a building that originally housed Agder Teater (now Kilden). After several years of dormancy, the building was revived as a vibrant cultural house in September 2018.
This is the third theater building on this site. The first was lost in the 1892 city fire, and the second was demolished in 1966. The current building was completed in 1976 and is a clear example of 1970s brutalist architecture, with raw concrete and distinct geometric shapes.
The facade is decorated with a monumental relief by Henrik Finne, and both the building and the art are now considered important architectural and cultural landmarks.
