The Tveide area

Grasham Bygdemuseum

The rural settlement of Tveide consists of several scenic farms, the local museum being one of them.

The walk starts at Birkeland school, passes by Lake Valtjønn, crosses the road and continues towards Vassbotn. The path passes to the west of Lake Vassbottjønna and goes on to Grasham museum with its 9 historic buildings from the 18-19th century (smithy, carpenters workshop, barn etc.) It goes on to Skilleveisletta and old Tveide station. Here there is an ancient stone monument. According to the legend the four stones were erected in memory of a certain legal matter. The path then follows the railway back to the school area.

Starting point - recommended parking by the sports centre near the schools.
