Høgtun Kultursenter - Fasade

Høgtun Kultursenter is located in Øyslebø in Marnardal. The place is popular amongst anglers due to its close proximity to many good fishing places in Zone 3 of the Mandalselva River.

Høgtun Cultural Center is the millennium site for Marnardal municipality.
The facility was originally built as a folk high school in 1922, located in what was then Øyslebø municipality. The site consists of four buildings: the main building, a workshop and outbuilding, Borghallen (a banquet and gym hall), and the principal’s residence (now with two rental units). When the school experienced a decline in applicants, the property was taken over by Øyslebø municipality.

The dormitory building has been modernized inside and can now accommodate up to 10 overnight guests. Simple standard with self-catering. Shared living room and kitchen with full facilities. Toilet and shower in the hallway. Bed linen and towels (large and small) can be rented.

The site is now used as a cultural center with spaces for organizations and private rentals, as well as facilities for art and museum exhibitions. The principal’s residence now serves as a museum space.
