Nomeheia in Øyslebø is an open heathland area with many great hiking opportunities. The route described here is about 5 km long and starts at the parking area just before Nome. From there, follow the road into Nome, through the residential area, and then take the trail on the right. The trail is well-marked with red paint and signs.
The hike follows forest roads and footpaths. At the top of the heath, the landscape opens up with sparse forest and several scenic viewpoints. Øyslebø Vel has built a lovely open shelter at one of the viewpoints, which is free for everyone to use.
The 5 km round continues behind the shelter, near the outhouse, and follows the forest road back down to Nome.
For a longer hike, you can walk up to the highest point of the heath at 214 metres above sea level and continue the loop from there.
