Laudal church

Experience history where it lives – at Laudal Church, art, faith, and resistance come together in unique surroundings from 1826.
Laudal Church is a cruciform wooden church built in 1826, located in Laudal, Lindesnes municipality, Agder. It stands on the foundations of a much older medieval church and has around 300 seats. The churchyard lies adjacent to the building.
The altarpiece was painted by the well-known Mandal-based artist Olaf Isaachsen, and features two scenes: The Burial of Christ and Christ Appears to the Apostles (1880), based on woodcuts by Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld.
Outside the church stands a memorial to Major Arne Laudal, a key figure in the Norwegian resistance during World War II.
