Lordens is located just below Risøbank, which was the distinctive summer residence of Lord Edward T. Salvesen from Scotland. The area is called Risøbank, and the buildings on the site are situated in a state-protected outdoor recreation area with many trails and beaches ready for use. The buildings at Risøbank and the surrounding area are protected by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage, including a gazebo with a beautiful view of the sea and a tennis court. The complex was designed by the renowned Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer, the same architect responsible for the Scottish National War Memorial at Edinburgh Castle.
