Svinør

It is considered one of the best preserved and most beautiful outports in southern Norway.
Svinør is an island outside Åvik in Lindesnes municipality in Agder and is an old port. The close location to Lindesnes is one of the reasons why Svinør became an important port early on. The place is considered to be one of the best preserved and most beautiful harbors in Southern Norway. Ship owners and captains lived here, and the oldest houses can be dated back to the end of the 17th century. Svinør had its own loading station, customs station and shipyard. Today, there are no permanent residents at Svinør, and in summer it is the holidaymakers who dominate the place. Best experienced by boat, but you also get a good impression from Åvik, the village on the mainland near Svinør.
