Flekkefjord
Grønnes beach
The city beach of Flekkefjord is called Grønnes, and is within walking distance from AMFI Flekkefjord.
Old and young flock here to enjoy the beach, play beach volleyball, catch small sand crabs, or dive into the water from the pier.
There is also a lawn which is suitable for picnics.
The area is also suitable for fishing. The largest sea bass was caught here in 2005 and it weighed 6 kg!
Adjacent to the beach are the old cannons from the military battery. The fort consisted for two batteries, one at Grønnes and one at Sveigeodden. These were erected in 1807 during the Napoleon War.
