Hike from Donsen to Kvinen

Donsen til Kvinen

The hike begins at Donsen and takes you on a hike through the beautiful scenic landscape of Sirdal to Kvinen, where settlements once exsisted before the Kvifjorden was dammed in 1967.

Starting point: From Tjørhom travel in the direction of Solheim until Flesebekk and from here travel on the dirt road 2.5 km to Donsen. Park at the large parking area at the end of the road.

Description: The path to Kvinen starts at the carpark at Donsen. From here follow the marked path in an easterly direction, over Mount Taddaksknuten where you have magnificent views of Tjørhom, Sinnes and Hønedalen. After a while, Omstjødn tarn comes into view on the left, and you cross the stream running between it and store Haugevatnet lake, before you start the gentle descent down to Mjåvatn lake. You soon arrive at a waymarked path intersection where you start heading for Kvinen along the hill in an eastern direction and you will see Kvivatnet and Kvinen Tourist Station.
