Hunting in Njardarheim - Statskog

Jakt i Njardarheim

Try hunting in Njardarheim.

There are large numbers of moose, deer, hare, grouse and other large woodland fowl in the forests and mountains in Sirdal.

Hunting may be carried out on government property, state common land and private property. However, hunting is not allowed without permission from the landowner and a hunting licence must be obtained before hunting. No hunting is allowed without the landowner's permission. Landowners are entitled to demand payment for the right to hunt, either by selling permits, or by letting the land.

Njardarheim is located in the north of Sirdal covering Vest-Agder, parts of Rogaland and Aust-Agder. The area is dominated by three hydroelectric reservoirs: Blåsjø, Svartevassmagasinet and Roskreppfjorden. Each has an associated cabin, and they vary from 10,000 to over 50,000 acres. The cabins are designed for hunters from 3-6 people, and the area can be allocated for 6 days.

Persons resident abroad do not have to take a hunting proficiency test providing they meet the criteria for permission to undertake similar hunting in their home countries. Documentary proof to that effect must be shown on demand to police, game wardens and other supervisory authorities.

Statskog is a Norwegian State-owned Land and Forest Company. Statskog rents out land in Njardarheim for game hunting. For more information see www.statskog.no.
