Knaben Leirskole

Knaben Outdoor School can be booked by schools for an annual outdoor school week, and by groups during weekends and holidays. The facility includes a gymnasium, swimming pool, activity room, dining hall, and a modern kitchen, as well as a wide range of opportunities for outdoor activities.
When the Knaben molybdenum mines were closed in 1973, the area was abandoned, and the school was converted into an outdoor school. Since then, the outdoor school has welcomed thousands of students from both Agder and Rogaland, and has become a highly sought-after destination for groups, teams, and associations during weekends and holidays.
The outdoor school has 71 beds (64 student beds and 7 leader beds) spread across 13 rooms in the main building and the annex.
Groups renting the school during weekends and holidays follow their own program and prepare their own meals. Schools that book a stay receive a complete four-day outdoor school program including meals, teaching, and outdoor activities led by the school's staff.
