Loshavn

Loshavn is a typical example of the outport communities along the southern coast which experienced huge resurgence in the 1700s and 1800s, and which today stands out as a vacation paradise with almost no permanent residents.

Loshavn is a port by Eikvåg in Vest-Agder, situated southeast of Lista at the inlet of Lyngdalsfjord. The place has a history of character, especially during the war years 1807-1814, in the so-called Napoleon War. Locals were authorized by the government to hijack passing English ships along the coast.
