Sarons Dal in Kvinesdal facilitates several different Christian events during the summer. The swimming pool is open to the public throughout the summer, there are music concerts and activities for the whole family.
Sarons Dal is a large property in Kvinesdal Southern Norway. It is home to the Christian organisation called Troens Bevis which means ''Evidence of Faith'' in Christianity. This organisation funds Christianity projects and campaigns around the world.
For ten days in July, Sarons Dal hosts a religious festival in Kvinesdal with thousands of visitors from all over Scandinavia.
History
In March 1960, a local Christian man named Aril Edvardsen said he received a call of God to help spread Christianity throughout the world. Then in 1964, he held the first Christian summer conference in Kvinesdal attracting people from all over Norway and Scandinavia. The following year, he purchased Sarons Dal to be the meeting point for the summer conferences that continue to this day.
Summer Festival
Over the years, this summer conference (also a kind of Christian festival) has gained notoriety around the world as a large Christian gathering where families bring their children and live in tents at Sarons Dal for ten days in July. There are thousands of people in attendance and Sarons Dal has everything the participants need with cooking facilities, an enormous indoor hall for concerts, sports, a swimming pool and kids play equipment. Sweden's famous vocalist Carola has also performed at the festival.
The surroundings are also ideal with a large fresh water stream and the picturesque mountainous area that is Kvinesdal.
