Route 8 will take you on a journey around Farsund and the Lista landscape. WELCOME!

Route 8 runs through the beautiful cultural landscape of Farsund municipality. There is something for everyone here!

The route is approximately 43 kilometres (26 miles), and stretches from the Town Square and the pier in Farsund, through the Lista landscape and out to the beautiful Lista lighthouse.

Driving Route 8, you can experience all of the “must-see”-checkpoints in the area. The cultural hotspots, such as Nordberg Fort, rock carvings (petroglyphs) at Penne and Hangar 45 are easily accessed during the drive. Galleries, art and culture, history and beautiful nature scenery are just tiny bits of what’s in store.

For the younger age group and speed enthusiasts, Lista Aktiv can offer activities like yoga, SUP, kayaking and windsurfing. Lista Adrenalinpark and Flipside have exiting activities such as paintball, go-kart and skating in Scandinavia’s biggest skate hall.

Also, there is a broad selection of unique local products, food, organic vegetables and herbs, and nice inviting shops. The area has a large selection of restaurants, cafes, pubs and accommodation. The proximity to the sea provides wonderful opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, fishing, water sports and other outdoor activities.

Route 8 does not necessarily need to be experienced in your car. It is also lovely on the bicycle. 98 % of the route is asphalt surface and relatively flat. It’s quite windy at Lista, but the trip may advantageously be cycled by the coast, so that the wind direction “hits you in the back”.
