Brokkestøylen is located next to the scenic Suleskar road.

Welcome to  Brokkestøylen

Brokkestøylen invites you to a sustainable dining experience in the heart of Setesdal. Here, everything is run from farm to table, with a focus on organic principles and locally sourced ingredients. In our regenerative kitchen garden, we grow vegetables and herbs, and in the surrounding nature, we forage wild plants and berries. Our local hunters supply meat from reindeer, moose, red deer, and roe deer, and mountain trout also features on the menu.

At Brokkestøylen, you get more than just a meal — you get a sensory experience. We combine traditional flavors from the mountains and highlands with our own creative twist and homemade delicacies, which can be enjoyed on-site or taken home.

Join our social dining table with room for 10 guests and savor authentic Norwegian food culture. A visit with us is not just a dinner — it’s a memory to take with you. Welcome to Brokkestøylen, where every meal tells a story of nature, sustainability, and local pride.

Award-Winning Culinary Experiences at Brokkestøylen

Running sustainably in every part of the operation also means that Brokkestøylen has limited availability, based on responsible resource use and seasonal ingredients. This dedication has earned recognition far beyond Setesdal.

Brokkestøylen was named Best Restaurant & Bar Awards 2023 – Southern Norway and The Most Scenic Dining Experience 2024 – Southern Norway by LUXlife Magazine. In addition, the farm’s own fireweed vinegar has been awarded the Specialty label by the Norwegian Food Foundation — a mark of exceptional taste and craftsmanship.

The fireweed vinegar, made from hand-picked and fermented fireweed from the local area, was praised by Norway’s Minister of Agriculture and Food, Nils Kristen Sandtrøen, as “in a class of its own in its category.” Tasting Brokkestøylen’s products is therefore not just a delight — it’s an experience of Norwegian food culture at its very best.

Welcome to Brokkestøylen, where quality, sustainability, and local pride go hand in hand!
