Overview
Details

Bispevegen (the Bishop's trail) is an old path from Valle to the village Fyresdal in Telemark.

On this summit hike you follow its western part, from Tveitebø in Valle to the highest point at Rolvskvil (1,137 m). The path is steep and strenuous, but has no difficult sections (a total of approx. 800 height metres). The final kilometre is a relatively easy walk across the mountain. At Rolvskvil there is a protected resting place for funeral processions (Norw. likkvile), about which there is an old legend. From the top there are magnificent views of large parts of Telemark. On clear days you see the mountain Gaustatoppen, 100 kilometres away! Return the same way, or follow the “panoramic trail” south to Valefjell and down to central Valle.
