Trondheim Chamber Music Festival aims to be a yearly international and national arena for chamber music in different genres of high quality and innovation, based in Trondheim. Already in 1996 the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival had a program which was of international standard.
This year we present the festival as udig. Udig as in undigital – exactly what we need after having been distanced from each other and live music. A highlight in this year's program is Fargespill's birthday party. Fargespill Trondheim turns 10 this fall and we invite you to celebrate in Olavshallen. DRIV was supposed to be last year's big anniversary gift to the city, but the pandemic had other plans. Fortunately, we get another chance. Cirka Teater and composer Ståle Storløkken are the brains behind this visually spectacular outdoor performance in the old docks at Solsiden. This year's festival composer is Caroline Shaw from New York, who despite her young age has already won two Grammy Awards. As a contemporary composer, she has connected with new and younger audience groups.
Among the artists are Vision String Quartet, Oslo String Quartet, pianists Hyung-ki Joo and Marianna Shirinyan, soprano Berit Norbakken, trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth, tuba player Øystein Baadsvik and The Trondheim Soloists to name a few.
