The Egge museum is situated near E6 at Steinkjer. The open air museum there features a complete farm facility from the 1800s as well as a cosy and child-friendly "Trønder" farmyard with many animals.
The museum has varied exhibits about the farm environment, agriculture and vehicles. In the indoor city street in the exhibition hall, there are shops and workshops from old Steinkjer. Perhaps you would like to buy some drops from the shop lady? Nice areas for walks on the museum grounds among the tombstones from the Iron Age and the Viking Age at Halla and near the Viking Chiefdom at Egge Farm.
Daily at 10:00 am - 4:00 pm In season, there is an open kiosk with ice cream, soft drinks, coffee and waffles. Each weekend in season, you can join in and feed the animals if you show up at the kiosk in the farmyard at 10:00 am.
Every Sunday in July, JULIFRYD is a special event with many extra activities.
We start the summer season with our great family event Children's Day on 17 June. We also organise a traditional Midsummer celebration on 23 June. See the museum's rich calendar of events at www.eggemuseum.no
