Herøy Rural Museum is idyllically situated in the old vicarage on the island Herøy just outside Sandnessjøen, near the ferry port Flostad. With view towards Dønnamannen and the Seven Sisters are the photo subjects here not hard to find. The museum consists of six old buildings with thematic exhibits and thousands of artifacts depicting the local cultural history. Here you can book guided tours of the beautiful medieval church which is close by, or you may start an old marine engine.

In the summer there are a coffee and fresh waffles for purchase. Would you like to become better acquainted with the local cultural history along the Coastal Highway(Kystriksveien) and the Helgeland coast, this museum is worth a stop.
