ZIPLINE IN THE ÅMOTSDALEN VALLEY

Looking for a farm visit with something else alongside? If so, plan to visit Åmotsdalen Gard! You can choose between taking one of Norway’s most adventurous ziplines, or just sitting on the stairs of the old storehouse with a coffee and a homemade cake from Kringla farm café and enjoying the view of the beautiful Åmotsdalen valley among the farm animals. From this summer, you can also stay overnight on the farm!

FARM VISIT: The farm consists of several buildings, the oldest of which dates from 1620 and is 400 years old! The hosts open the farm every long weekend during summer and wish you welcome to the farmyard. You can walk around the farm, look around and greet the horses and pigs. If you would like to arrange a guide to show your group around and tell you about the history of the farm and the Åmotsdalen valley, please contact us to find a time that suits.

ZIPLINE: Keen to try one of the most adventurous ziplines in Norway? The wire hangs about 100 metres above ground and stretches 360 metres across the valley and is sure to give you a thrill. You will travel high above the farm, the valley and the river flowing beneath you. The return line is a little shorter but faster and steeper. You can book in advance or simply drop in.

KRINGLA FARM CAFE: This is perhaps one of Norway’s smallest farm shops. In the charming old storehouse, you can buy coffee, home-baked cakes and baked goods and enjoy them outside while sitting on solid benches and admiring the beautiful views. The café is fully licenced.

ACCOMMODATION: A new from this summer is the opportunity to stay overnight in the two restored historic buildings, Snekkerstua and Drengstua. For bookings, please check the farm’s website or Airbnb.

ÅMOTSDALEN HIKING AREA: The road ends at the farm. You can continue into the valley from here on foot following well-marked paths. Rest areas have been built on the riverbank beside the path. Consequently, the Åmotsdalen valley is well suited for both families with small children and experienced hikers who wish to spend several days walking from cabin to cabin.
